Dalat hotels are some of the few places in Vietnam where you’ll be happy to hang up your boots by a log fire. The height of luxury, they make the perfect complement to a long days walk, golf or explore in the decidedly cooler weather in the hills.
Dalat became a popular destination for the French colonists due to its cooler, european temperature, and today is famous for its wine and flower industries. Famous amongst Vietnamese couples as the most romantic destination in Vietnam, Dalat is a charming town with lakes, palaces, waterfalls and mountains to explore.

May 6, 2008 by visitvietnamA stunning island off the coast of Cambodia, Phu Quoc is actually part of Vietnam. Used as a military base during the war (and by the Vietnamese government today) Phu Quoc was rather forgotten about by the government development programmes until growth in internal and external tourism in the past decades. As a result it is undeveloped and simply stunning, and a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the mainland. Filled with a perfect amount of hotels and resorts, there are enough facilities to keep even the most demanding of tourists happy, yet they are sparse enough to offer peace and quiet, and plenty of empty, calm bays that you can keep all to yourself.
Ha Long Bay
May 6, 2008 by visitvietnamHalong bay offers one of the most iconic images of Vietnam, with over 2,000 limestone islands scattered across the mouth of the bay. Best explored on a romantic cruise or by kayak, these islands are strikingly beautiful – but make sure you go with a guide, as it’s easy to get lost! You can sleep on the boat or stay in a halong bay hotel, or even stop over on one of the largest islands, Cat Ba, which is a protected nature reserve.
Ha Long Bay is stunning whatever the weather – in the sunshine the beautiful turquoise water sparkles in contrast with the greens, whites and greys of the limestone islands, and in the mist the islands rise mysteriously out of the water through the fog. Best of all is spending the night on the water at full moon, when the reflections of the eerie blue light and the cliffs in the water offer a memorable sight
Can Tho
May 6, 2008 by visitvietnamCan Tho is the biggest city in the Mekong Delta, the rice bowl of Vietnam. Famed for its floating markets, Can Tho is a calm, relaxing base from which to explore the Mekong. Criss-crossed by canals best explored by rowing boat, it is a great place to sit by the waterside with a Vietnamese coffee and watch the world go by. Easily accessible from Ho Chi Minh City, whether by bus or the speedboat which takes a beautifully scenic route, it is a great place to take a weekend off from Saigon or to see more of the region. Can Tho hotels are amongst some of the best in the country. It’s also a great place to stop on the way to Cambodia.
